Every week, we meet with audience members with disabilities who are willing to come forward and share a little bit about their own personal journey and experiences, attending live, in-person, or virtual speaking or training events. Through their unique and generous perspectives, communication professionals can learn about some of the things that they do well and some of the things they could improve to provide an experience that is truly inclusive of everyone.

According to Statistics Canda, about 48% of Canadian adults have literacy skills that fall below high school level, which regularly affects their ability to optimally function in society. Of those, 17% function at the lowest literacy level, where individuals may struggle with simple things like reading the newspaper or understanding dosage instructions on a medicine bottle.
