Support Knowbility and empower millions – yes, you can do it!

I’m reaching out to you today, asking for money. Yes, I know, I know… Not exactly the best way to lead a post! But hear me out, will ya? I want to tell you about one of the best non-profit organizations out there. One you probably don’t know much about. One that works tirelessly behind the scenes to make a positive change in society. As you reach the end of this post, my heartfelt wish is that the passion ignited within you becomes an unstoppable flame, compelling you to join me in supporting them wholeheartedly.

Are you still reading? Good. Onward, then!

Let me introduce you to an incredible organization that holds a special place in my heart: Knowbility. Their unwavering dedication to digital accessibility is truly awe-inspiring. But Knowbility is more than your typical association helping out people living with disabilities. At the forefront of the disability inclusion movement, they shine brightly as a beacon of hope, leaving a deep and meaningful impact on the lives of those who are disabled. Let me tell you how.

Making a difference in people’s lives

Ok, so listen. You’ve been around the block. You know technology has become a crucial aspect of our everyday lives. Looking at your own daily use of technology makes this a pretty obvious observation. You also know how vital it is nowadays for everyone to be provided with equal access to digital resources. Any failure to do so results in some people being left behind and prevented from fully contributing to society. And that’s exactly what happens; while the majority don’t think twice about leveraging technologies, others struggle daily to accomplish tasks the rest of us otherwise take for granted.

That’s precisely why Knowbility’s mission, under the remarkable leadership of Sharron Rush, is so important and makes such a difference for those seeking to overcome these obstacles and engage fully in the digital space. A wonderful non-profit organization based in Austin, Texas, Knowbility is an award-winning leader in accessible information technology. For over 23 years, the non-profit has been at the forefront of the fight for digital equality, disability inclusion, and accessibility.

Through their work, passion, and commitment, the Knowbility staff and volunteers contribute to transforming and empowering the lives of millions of individuals with disabilities worldwide. Through their advocacy, awareness campaigns, and other initiatives, the team spearheads a movement that champions equal access to technology for people with disabilities, inspiring others to do the same.

I can personally attest to the life-changing impact of Knowbility’s important work. As a long-time collaborator, volunteer, and devoted supporter myself, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of their resources and guidance on multiple occasions. Through their comprehensive training, programs, conferences, and advocacy, they have equipped individuals like me with the skills and knowledge to create inclusive websites or better understand the ins and outs of digital equality. These newfound abilities have opened doors to opportunities that were once out of reach for many individuals. They have empowered folks like me and so many others to pursue their passions for a more equitable digital world. Allowed them to connect with others, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Dedicated to nurturing talents and fostering a sense of belonging

Knowbility’s dedication to nurturing talents and fostering a sense of belonging has made a profound difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities worldwide. Their work is incredibly important.

Knowbility’s success is largely attributed to the exceptional leadership and guidance of Sharron Rush, an inspiring mentor and dear and caring friend. With her passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to accessibility, Sharron has helped reshape the landscape of digital inclusion. Over the past two decades, her visionary guidance has contributed to advancing policies, defining best practices, and shaping international standards that have propelled accessibility forward across entire industries. Sharron’s tireless education and outreach efforts and international thought leadership have left an indelible mark on the field of digital inclusion, inspiring individuals and organizations to prioritize accessibility and open up to diversity.

But Knowbility’s impact doesn’t stop there. It extends far beyond individuals who have disabilities. Their work has inspired, guided, and transformed entire communities, organizations, and educational institutions:

  • By partnering with schools, colleges, and universities, Knowbility has integrated digital accessibility into curricula, ensuring that future generations are equipped with the necessary skills for an inclusive future.
  • Through collaborations with non-profit organizations, they have raised accessibility awareness and empowered these organizations to create more inclusive digital experiences for everyone.
  • By leading international education and outreach efforts, they have ensured that organizations around the world are more successful wrapping their heads around the intricacies of digital accessibility guidelines and requirements.

Knowbility’s monumental influence continues to transcend borders to this day, reaching individuals with and without disabilities globally and bridging the digital divide in the process.

Make a difference by supporting Knowbility’s mission

Knowbility’s vital work is made possible through the support of individuals like you and me. By making a donation, you become an integral part of their mission to empower millions of individuals with disabilities. If their actions resonate with you, then please consider helping out! Your contribution will have a tangible and lasting impact. Every contribution counts!

Knowbility’s ongoing Mid-Year Fundraiser aims to raise $75,000 by July 15th to sustain these essential, life-changing initiatives. So far, their campaign has raised around $34,000 thanks to the generous contributions of supporters. While this puts them halfway toward their fundraising goals, we can do better!

Your support is critical in reaching their goal and continuing their transformative work. Here are just a few examples of how your contributions can make a meaningful change:

  • Your gift of $1000 provides digital accessibility training to a high school or community college class learning about inclusive web design.
  • Your gift of $750 helps distribute K12 Access Toolkits that empower parents and teachers to choose assistive technology, use more inclusive teaching methods, and ensure that children with disabilities have access to quality education.
  • Your gift of $500 helps fund an AccessU scholarship for a disabled or financially struggling student, helping them to pursue a career in digital accessibility.
  • Your gift of $250 helps fund mentoring and support to a non-profit organization learning about digital accessibility.
  • Your gift of $100 helps fund the participation of a user with a disability in a product usability study, providing income and valuable user experience data.

Feeling inspired yet?

Excellent. Then join me on this journey towards a more inclusive society by supporting them and their unwavering dedication to digital accessibility. Through your support, you will profoundly impact the lives of individuals with disabilities worldwide for the better.

Remember, no donation is too small – every contribution matters and adds up to create meaningful change. Your generosity, regardless of its size, is invaluable. It will have a lasting impact. Now’s your chance to do your part, supporting a team of caring individuals who relentlessly fight the good fight for diversity, equity, and inclusion of folks living with disabilities. Will you grab it?

Please consider visiting Knowbility’s donation page today and make a difference. Let’s all come together. Let’s work towards building a world where digital inclusion becomes a reality for everyone. This is a lot of work, yes. But they are willing and eager to do that work! You can do your part by offering them the means to succeed. Together, we can empower this fantastic non-profit to empower individuals with disabilities, so they can, as a result, embrace the digital world with confidence, opportunity, and dignity.

Are you ready to lead inclusively?

Every day, millions of employees feel unseen, unheard, and unsupported because leadership fails to recognize and address their diverse needs.

Over 20% of the workforce identifies as either disabled or neurodivergent, yet many organizations lack the tools to foster truly inclusive workplaces. The result? Missed opportunities, disengaged teams, and barriers that limit both individual and business growth.

At Inklusiv Communication, we help leaders move beyond “inclusive-ish” to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in everything they do. By embedding inclusive leadership into your organization, you can unlock the full potential of your workforce, increase engagement, and drive long-term success.

If you’re ready to build a truly inclusive workplace where everyone thrives and can contribute to the full extent of their potential, let’s talk.

“A one-size-fits-all delivery of your message will always end up denying part of your audience with fair and equal opportunities to truly learn, share, grow, and belong.”
